History
Aglou village's history is intertwined with that of Tiznit Province, created in 1975 through the division of the former Agadir Province. Following the 2009 territorial reorganization, Tiznit Province was divided into 25 communes, including two urban centers—Tiznit, the capital, and Tafraoute. Three administrative circles—Tafraoute, Anezi, and Tiznit—oversee the 23 remaining communes, which are themselves attached to 10 caïdats. The Aglou caïdat, comprising TnineAglou and Arbaa Sahel, is the tenth.

The 17-kilometer road connecting Tiznit and Aglou village is now fully paved, making it easier for travelers to reach this surprising destination. August is the warmest month, averaging 24.4°C, while January is the coldest at 15.4°C. In fact, Aglou is visitable year-round, as temperatures remain moderate and pleasant.
Agadir Airport receives daily flights from Europe. You can then rent a car or take a shared taxi to reach Tiznit Province, which sits about an hour's drive from Agadir. Leaving Tiznit via Méchouar Square, turn right and you'll arrive in Aglou after 16 kilometers. This stunning village offers countless surprises for those exploring Morocco's southern reaches.
Despite the availability of buses and other transport options, Aglou is a small village easily explored on foot. A walk through its heart will naturally lead you to its remarkable sites. In fact, a day's walk is sufficient to explore the entire village.
