With approximately 3,500 km of coastline, primarily along the Atlantic but also in the North, bordering the Mediterranean, Morocco is perfect for practicing numerous water sports, surfing, kitesurfing, sailing, windsurfing, diving, water skiing, and more. The water is never particularly cold, rarely dropping below 18°C. While the beaches are beautiful and expansive, they are not always monitored, which is why it's recommended to gather information before practicing any water sport.

The most renowned spot for water sports, particularly surfing and windsurfing, is Sidi Bouzid, north of the city of Safi. Its 4-meter wave is considered by surfers to be among the world's ten best. Other beaches favored by surf enthusiasts include those of Agadir, Taghazout, and Dar Bouazza. Dakhla, on the other hand, is a site better suited for beginners and children, as the lagoon is shallow and the waters are calm. Kitesurfing is also practiced here.

Not to mention Essaouira, whose reputation continues to grow. The winds that sweep across the bay allow for all water sports from March to November. Waves of 1 to 2 meters on Sidi Kaouki beach, which can reach 3 meters on Moulay Bouzerktoune, offer optimal natural conditions. This is why numerous water sports clubs are based here and the region organizes major sporting competitions every year.

The city of Rabat is also attempting to become a must-see destination for water sports. It now organizes a festival, in partnership with the city's nautical club, featuring several competitions. At the 2010 edition, nearly 600 athletes competed in around ten water sports disciplines including light sailing, bodyboard surfing, light rowing, water skiing, and even water shows. The water sports section of Fus de Rabat is considered the most dynamic in the country.

Lakes, wadis, and streams also open up to water sports such as rowing, rafting, and canoeing-kayaking. As for scuba diving, the underwater depths of the Mediterranean, in the north of the country, in the Gibraltar Strait, are unquestionably the most suitable, both for training and exploration. Coral barriers, typical fauna and flora dazzle divers who can enjoy this activity from early April to late October.
