The spirit of travel
What if you celebrated the New Year differently, in the heart of the Moroccan desert? This 8-day circuit in Maroc, designed by the local agency Hors Circuit, invites you to experience a New Year's Eve in the heart of nature, under the stars of the Sahara.
Departing from Agadir, you cross the landscapes of the Atlas and the Drâa valley, between palm groves, kasbahs and Berber villages, before reaching the dunes of Erg Chegaga. Here, the adventure takes on another dimension: camel treks, initiation into desert survival techniques, hiking and 4x4 driving punctuate your stay.
The highlight of the trip? A New Year's Eve celebration in the heart of the dunes, around a special dinner and entertainment with local artists. After these moments of sharing, you continue your discovery towards Lake Iriki, Tissint and Tata, before returning to Agadir through the landscapes of the Anti-Atlas.

In the Heart of the Drâa
You travel along a scenic road through the Atlas to reach the Drâa Valley. The route gradually unveils the landscapes of southern Maroc.
At lunchtime, enjoy a picnic in the heart of a palm grove.
The discovery of the Drâa valley continues between vast palm groves and natural landscapes. Depending on your preferences, you can also visit ksour or kasbahs, witnesses to Berber architecture.
At the end of the day, settle into a comfortable hotel with a swimming pool in Zagora.

Immersion in the Erg Chegaga
This day begins with a program of à la carte activities: relaxation by the hotel pool, visit to a house-museum or discovery of the weekly souk.
For lunch, enjoy a picnic by the wadi of the village of Mhamid, in a setting conducive to contemplating the surrounding landscapes.
You then board a 4x4 heading towards the erg Chegaga, located 50 kilometers west of Mhamid. This collection of dunes is one of the two major ergs of the Sahara.
Upon arrival, set up your isolated camp nestled in the heart of the dunes.
The evening unfolds in the heart of nature around a meal prepared on-site, followed by a convivial moment by the campfire, under the starry Sahara sky.

New Year's Eve Under the Stars
This day in the Erg Chegaga begins with a fun introduction to survival techniques in the desert. Games and activities are also offered, particularly for families traveling with children.
After a picnic in the sand, it's time for a great walk across the dunes.
You can reach the summit of the highest dune during a camel ride. As you climb, discover a clear panorama over the vastness of this sea of sand.
To celebrate the new year, enjoy a special New Year's Eve dinner, accompanied by entertainment and performances by local artists.
The evening continues under the stars, before a night in the heart of the desert.

Saharan sweetness of life
After the New Year's Eve festivities, take time to rest with a lie-in and breakfast served in bed.
Still in the heart of the Erg Chegaga, then enjoy a brunch in the shade of the tamarisks.
The afternoon is devoted to the second part of your initiation into desert survival techniques, or to other fun activities organized in consultation with you.
In the late afternoon, set off for a walk in the erg to admire the sunset over the dunes of Chegaga.
You will then set up your camp in the heart of this natural environment, before sharing an Indian dinner, to vary the pleasures after Moroccan specialties.

Adventure towards Lake Iriki
Enjoy a free morning to rest or participate in activities offered in the Erg Chegaga.
After a picnic lunch, your organizer will accompany you for an initiation to 4x4 driving in the dune fields.
The adventure continues across the Lac Iriki dried lake, whose vast desert expanses can reveal mirages.
In the evening, discover some Berber specialties during a small cooking class, followed by dinner.
You spend the night in a bivouac in an oasis, facing beautiful rock formations.

What I love about travel is that moment when you leave the obvious path. That's when the landscape shifts, but more importantly, so does your perspective.
